Day 3: Westford to Townsend via Groton

Something good will happen. So long as I keep walking and spinning my little yarns, something good is bound to happen. This story’s got legs, and all I gotta do is tell it often enough, or to the right crowd. Sooner or later, this story is gonna start carrying me.

I did a performance today in Groton, a 1 pm storytelling. Only three people showed up. One was my friend Linda, and Linda brought a friend along. The third was the librarian who helped me set up the event. But all three audience members seemed really into it, and I gave them everything I had, as always. Maybe something will come of it. Indeed, maybe it already has.

A short blog tonight, as I have no way to charge my phone for the next couple of days. Tomorrow it’s supposed to rain all day, starting at 5 am. I aim to get up and pack up before the rain begins, in hopes that will keep my sleeping bag dry. Everything else will get wet, including me. But it’s spring, and such things are to be expected.

My husband and I rode our bicycles from Syracuse, NY to Portland OR when we were in our 50’s – best thing we ever did together (besides having 4 kids, who thought we were crazy to do it). Took 2 months going, with a few side trips, and 1 day to get home ✈️. I can’t imagine walking it, and will so enjoy your travel log!! Thank you for sharing it.

      Sue,

Now, that’s a long haul! Awesome that you did it together. I originally thought I’d aim for Seattle or Portland, but the possibility of an early snowstorm in the mountains scared me off.
